Marquette Looks to Bounce Back
Marquette in the last game faced off against UConn, a game they were favored in, but they weren’t able to secure the victory. Marquette scored 69 points, while the defense gave up 77 points and that led to the defeat. At halftime they were down 42-929 and in the second half, they couldn’t fight back. Even though they lost, Kam Jones had a strong game putting up 22 points, three assists, and one rebound. There were three different layers that put at least 13 points. Two games ago against Butler, they ended up 78-69.
Marquette comes into this game with an 18-4 record overall and they have gone 11-11 against the spread. Marquette is averaging 78.7 points while their defense is giving up 67.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 82nd in the league while the defense is ranked 61st. They are averaging 10.23 steals per game which is 4th in the league. Kam Jones is averaging 19 points while shooting 49.3 percent from the field.

St John’s Pulled it Out Late
St John’s wasn’t exactly dominant in the last game, but they were able to make the winning shots late and they were able to beat Providence 68-66. At halftime they were up 25-21 and then late in the game they made the shots late to pick up the victory. Kadary Richmond had a strong game putting up 24 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. There were three different players that put up at least 13 points.
St John’s comes into this game with a 19-3 record overall and they have gone 13-8-1 against the spread. St John’s averages 79.3 points while their defense is giving up 65.2 points per game. The offense is ranked 68th in the league while the defense is ranked 31st in the league. RJ Luis Jr has been the top player for St John’s averaging 17.5 points while shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from behind the three-point line.
Marquette vs St John’s Prediction
This a big-time bounce-back spot for Marquette. St John’s defense has been fine, but I just don’t see them slowing down Kam Jones. The other players around Kam Jones are going to step up also, and the offense for Marquette is going ot be too much. This is going to be a higher-scoring game, but Marquette will make the shots late and they will end up covering the spread here.
