Florida State Seminoles Betting Preview
This year the Seminoles got off to a solid start but they’ve been pretty shaky lately. Florida State opened things up with a 7-1 run over their first eight games. The lone loss in that time was versus Florida on November 15. Otherwise, the wins came courtesy of Northern Kentucky, Rice, Tarleton State, Hofstra, Temple, UMass, and Western Carolina. Since then the Seminoles are just 3-3 in their last six outings. The wins have come over Tulane, Winthrop, and Syracuse. Otherwise, it’s been losses to LSU, NC State, and Louisville in that time for a 10-4 record.
In the Syracuse matchup back on Saturday, the Seminoles came out of the break looking at a slim 36-34 advantage on the scoreboard. Florida State hit a 54-40 run the rest of the way however, powering out a 90-74 win in the end. Tops in scoring was Daquan Davis with 18 points, three boards, and three steals. FSU’s Jamir Watkins added 16 points, while Taylor Bol Bowen doubled up on 14 points and 10 boards. Malique Ewin chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds during the winning effort as well.
Miami Hurricanes Betting Preview
Over on the Miami side, they came out of the gate with three straight wins, but they’ve hit the skids hard since then. Everything started out well with victories over Fairleigh Dickinson, Binghamton, and Coppin State. Since then it’s been just one victory over Presbyterian on December 15, however. Otherwise, the Hurricanes have fallen to Drake, Oklahoma State, VCU, Charleston Southern, Arkansas, Clemson, Tennessee, Mount St. Mary’s, Boston College, and Virginia Tech in that span, resulting in a rough 4-10 overall record for the Hurricanes.
Miami played Virginia Tech in their last outing on Saturday, and to the Hurricanes’ credit, they were competitive. Miami held a 40-39 halftime deficit but didn’t end up getting any closer during a 46-46 second half on the way to a tough loss of 86-85 Leading the way in the defeat was Matthew Cleveland and his 21 points with two blocks, two boards and three assists. Jalil Bethea added 15 points with one assist, and Austin Swartz put up 12 points and two boards.

Florida State vs Miami Prediction
I’ll lean toward Florida State. The Seminoles took a little while to break away from a middling Syracuse team in their last outing, but everything worked out well in the end during the victory. FSU logged a nice 53.6 percent shooting from the field in that one, with 36 rebounds and 17 team assists. The 16 points off 15 Orange turnovers were a nice bonus as well. Florida State has been on a scoring tear pretty much all year. They’ve hit 72 or more points in all 14 games so far and should notch a solid total here as well.
As for Miami, they had a near-miss opportunity against Virginia Tech slip through their fingers over the weekend. The Canes shot a blistering 58.9 percent from the field but missed six of their 17 free throws (64.7 percent), got out-rebounded 29-23, and had 11 turnovers for 17 Hokies points. The good news is that the Hurricanes have put up 68 or more points in four straight. The bad news is that they’re allowing a lot on the other side, so FSU should thrive on the scoreboard for a potential win here.
