Tulsa Golden Hurricane Betting Preview
The Hurricane started out at 3-0 this year, then took losses to Missouri State, Little Rock, and Loyola before another win versus Detroit. Since then it’s been three more losses to Georgia State, Oklahoma State, and Southern.
In the Southern game last Saturday, the Hurricane were within four points at halftime and couldn’t make up the difference in a 70-66 loss. Keaston Willis came off the bench to lead the team with 23 points and seven rebounds in the defeat.
UCF Knights Betting Preview
Over on the UCF side, they beat Texas A&M, Fort Wayne, FAU, and Tennessee Tech before losses to Wisconsin and LSU. In the last three games, the Knights have dispatched Milwaukee, Cal Baptist, and Tarleton State, though.
Matched up against Tarleton State on Sunday, the Knights held an eight-point edge by the break. UCF scored another 37 points from there in a 66-51 win. Jordan Ivy-Curry was tops with his 16 points and six rebounds in the victory.
Why the UCF Knights will win
- Tulsa has lost six of its last seven games.
- UCF has won five of its last six games against Tulsa.
- Tulsa has lost the first half in each of its last four day games against the Big 12 Conference.
Why the Tulsa Golden Hurricane will win
- UCF has lost each of its last three games played at neutral venues.
Tulsa vs UCF Prediction
I’m leaning toward UCF. The Knights are coming off a pretty sloppy effort versus a struggling Tarleton State team though, and could use a better showing here. UCF hit just 35.8 percent from the field with 17 turnovers in that victory, but the 37 rebounds and 19-of-22 (86.4 percent) from the line really helped. It was the Knights’ lowest points total (66) since their opener win over Texas A&M (64), however.
As for Tulsa, they’re coming off 13 turnovers in a four-point loss to a middling Southern squad. The Hurricane have been below 67 points in five of the last six games (a 1-5 run), so I’m not confident about their cover chances here.
