I’ll stick with the Gators here. Florida hasn’t necessarily been tested yet this year, as all of their victories have come by double-digits. The Gators’ last win over Southern Illinois featured 46.7 percent shooting from the field, 25 team assists, just six turnovers, and plenty of garbage minutes for the lineup. Florida has scored 81 or more points in all six games, but this will likely be their trickiest matchup of the season thus far.
As for Wake Forest, they didn’t shoot great (39.3 percent) versus Detroit in their last outing and also got out-rebounded 48-31 (14-6 offensive). In their last matchup versus a ranked team (Xavier), the Deacons shot well at 46.8 percent but also coughed up 18 turnovers and ended up losing by 15 points. If the Gators can bully Wake Forest into a series of mistakes like that again, Florida should have smooth sailing toward a cover on Thursday.
