In this article we will formulate a Lions vs Roughriders prediction for this CFL game on Saturday, June 13th at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this CFL matchup.

BC Lions Betting Preview

The BC Lions went 11-7 last season and they finished second in the West Division with 22 points, which was just two points behind the Roughriders for first. BC scored 559 points last year and they allowed 499 points against. The Lions started the season with a 3-5 record through eight games and they split the next four to go 5-7, before finishing the season on a six game winning streak. The Lions were very good offensively in 2025, as they scored at least 27 points in each of their last 13 regular season games. BC defeated the Stampeders by a score of 33-30 in their first playoff game, but they lost to the Roughriders by a score of 24-21.

This season, BC will have Nathan Rourke back at quarterback, who had an elite 2025 season. The Lions will also have James Butler at running back, who is a huge part of the offense, and their top two receivers are also returning. The offensive line did lose one of their best players, so we will see if that makes a difference. On defense, BC wasn’t great in 2025, as they allowed the most points in the West Division.

Saskatchewan Roughriders Betting Preview

The Saskatchewan Roughriders were 12-6 last year and they finished first in the West Division with 24 points, which was two more than the Lions and Stampeders. Saskatchewan scored 472 points last year, while they allowed 409 points against. The Roughriders started the season with an 8-1 record through nine games, but they went just 4-5 to end the regular season. Saskatchewan was very good defensively last year, as they allowed 21 points or fewer in three of their last four games. The Roughriders got a bye in the first round, beat the Lions 24-21, and beat the Alouettes 25-17 to win the Grey Cup.

This year, Saskatchewan will return Trevor Harris at the quarterback spot, who is a very solid option. The Roughriders will have Ouellette at the running back spot, but their receivers are a bit of question mark. The offensive line should be solid, but the right side is much better than the left. On defense, Saskatchewan lost a lot of production on the defensive line, but the linebackers and defensive backs should be solid.

Lions vs Roughriders Prediction

Both of these teams had plenty of success in the 2025 season, but Saskatchewan won the Grey Cup and they will be at home. The Roughriders aren’t elite on offense, but they are good enough and their defense is great. BC has trouble getting stops, but their offense is very powerful. It will be interesting to see who controls the pace of this game, but I think BC is the better team. Saskatchewan lost some key pieces on defense, so I could see them struggling to start this season. Take the Lions here.

David Racey's Pick: Lions +1.5
