This year the Cajuns kicked things off with an 8-1 run, taking a lone loss to Tulane among wins versus Grambling State, Kennesaw State, Wake Forest, App State, Southern Miss, Coastal Carolina, Texas State, and Arkansas State. Game 10 was a loss to South Alabama, though.
Matched up against Troy over the weekend, Louisiana was down early but then posted 27 second-quarter points on the way to a 51-30 win. Chandler Fields finished with 323 yards and two scores, while Bill Davis had 19 carries for 64 yards and three touchdowns.

Louisiana vs LA-Monroe Prediction
I’ll lean toward Louisiana. The Cajuns got a pretty good all-around effort in their win over Troy last weekend, posting three takeaways on defense with 418 yards (323 passing) on offense. There’s plenty to improve on of course—including a rough 2-of-10 on third-down tries—but no one’s complaining about the 51 points. The Cajuns have 34 or more points in four of their last six games (a 5-1 run).
As for LA-Monroe, they had two turnovers, eight penalties, and a 4-of-11 success rate on third downs in their tight loss to Arkansas State. The Warhawks haven’t scored great lately with 23 or fewer points in five straight (all losses). If Louisiana can keep the offensive pressure up, the Cajuns should have an easy cover here.
Andrew’s Pick Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns -9.5
