Temple Owls Betting Preview
Temple lost five of their first six games this year, falling to Oklahoma, Navy, Coastal Carolina, Army, and UConn along the way. The Owls would then take out Tulsa 20-10 before losses to East Carolina and Tulane in the next pair.
In their matchup with Florida Atlantic on Saturday, Temple posted nine fourth-quarter points to force overtime and eventually won 18-15. Evan Simon threw for 218 yards, while Dante Wright led the receivers with 14 catches for 147 yards.

Over on the UTSA side, they went 2-4 to start the year. The losses in that time were to Texas State, Texas, East Carolina, and Rice. Since then the Roadrunners are 3-1 with wins over Florida Atlantic, Memphis, and North Texas alongside a lone loss to Tulsa.
In their last appearance versus North Texas on Friday, the Roadrunners were up 27-7 by halftime. UTSA slowed in the second half but still powered out the big win 48-27. Owen McCown posted 379 yards with two TDs and a pick. Robert Henry led the rush with his 20 carries for 168 yards and two touchdowns of his own.

Temple vs UTSA Prediction
I’ll stick with UTSA. The Roadrunners are coming off a good showing versus a middling North Texas team. UTSA gave up a whopping 239 rushing yards in that one but held the Green to just 2-of-11 on third downs with a pair of takeaways. On offense, the Roadrunners posted 681 yards (302 rushing), 7.5 yards, and 30 first downs in a dominant display.
As for Temple, on Saturday they barely eked by Florida Atlantic. The Owls notched 348 yards total (218 passing) with a tepid 4.4 yards per play and 18 first downs. The defense held FAU to just 3-of-14 on third-down tries though, and usually got off the field promptly. UTSA should be a tougher matchup (on paper at least) and I don’t think the Owls will get close enough to cover.
