FIU Looked Impressive in the Last Game

FIU lost against Indiana 31-7 in the first game but in the last game, they bounced back in a big way. FIU faced off against Central Michigan in the last game and they were able to secure the 52-16 victory. FIU scored 21 points in the second quarter and that was enough for the victory. The offense got the attention but what the defense was able to do was impressive. They picked off Central Michigan quarterback Joey Labas five times, and that really set up the offense for a good field position. 

Keyone Jenkins was under center for FIU and he completed 10 of his 18 passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Kejon Owens also had a strong game finishing with nine carries for 60 yards and a touchdown. In this game, the FIU defense is going to need to try and create a couple of turnovers.

Florida Atlantic has some issues heading into this game and they sit with a 0-2 record. In the first game against Michigan State, they were competitive but they ended up losing 16-10. In the last game against Army, Florida Atlantic only scored seven points, and they ended up losing by 17 points at home. Cam Fancher was under center in the last game and he completed 25 of his 37 passes for 191 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The running game had some major issues getting going and they need to find a way to get the offense going. 

They also are going to need to try and limit the turnovers. FIU has done a good job of turning the ball over so far this season and if they want a chance in this game they are going to need to hang onto the ball. Giving the ball away could make this game get ugly early. 

FIU vs Florida Atlantic Prediction

Florida Atlantic’s offense has some major issues heading into this game and I have concerns about what they are going to do again in this game. FIU’s defense has done a good job of creating turnovers so far this season and that is going to be the difference here. FIU’s offense might not exactly run up the score, but they are going to find enough offensive success to keep this game close, and maybe even with the game outright. Back FIU getting the points here.
