The Minnesota Lynx and the Indiana Fever meet Friday in WNBA action from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Minnesota Lynx vs. Indiana Fever prediction.
Matchup History
The lone time these two teams met this season was in the Commissioner’s Cup Final, and that was a 74-59 win for the Fever, snapping Minnesota’s two-game regular season win streak in this head-to-head matchup.
Minnesota Lynx Recap
The Minnesota Lynx come into this game looking to rebound from their 75-73 loss at the hands of the Atlanta Dream last time out to sit at 28-7 this season. After this game, the Lynx will head home for the second leg of the home-and-home against the Fever before taking on the Seattle Storm at home.
Lynx Drop Back-To-Back Games For First Time This Season
Napheesa Collier leads the Lynx in scoring with 23.5 PPG along with 7.5 RPG and 3.5 APG while Courtney Williams has added 13.9 PPG with 5 RPG and a team-high 6.4 APG to lead the Lynx in the assist department. Kayla McBride’s logged 14.8 PPG and 3.4 APG to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Minnesota up to this point in the season. Alanna Smith’s added 9.4 PPG with 5.3 RPG and 2.8 APG and Natisha Hiedeman has 7.7 PPG with 2.9 APG so far this season. As a team, Minnesota is averaging 87.3 PPG on 46.9% shooting from the field, 36.8% from three and 77.9% from the foul line this season.
Indiana Fever Recap
The Indiana Fever come into this game looking to add on to their 99-93 win over the Connecticut Sun last time out to improve to 19-16 this season. After this game, the Fever will head to Minnesota for the second half of the home-and-home before taking on the Seattle Storm at home.
Fever Drop 4 Of Last 6 Despite Win
Kelsey Mitchell leads the Fever in scoring with 19.9 PPG along with 3.2 APG while Caitlin Clark has 16.5 PPG with 5 RPG and a team-high 8.8 APG to lead the Fever in assists, but is out with no timetable for a return with an injury. Aliyah Boston has 15.1 PPG with a team-high 8.3 RPG and 3.7 APG to lead the Fever in rebounding and Natasha Howard has 11.5 PPG with 6.7 RPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for the Fever so far this season. Lexie Hull has added 6.8 PPG with 4.2 RPG. Sophie Cunningham also has 8.7 PPG with 3.7 RPG as well on the year. As a team, Indiana is averaging 84.7 PPG on 44.7% shooting from the field, 33.8% from three and 77.2% from the foul line this season.
Minnesota Lynx vs. Indiana Fever Prediction
I’m looking at the Lynx here. I just like what Minnesota’s brought to the table this season and I’m hard-pressed to think that Minnesota will lose three straight even on the second half of a back-to-back. The Fever’s depth continues to get tested as now Sophie Cunningham’s out for the season and at a certain point, the losses just become too much to overcome. I’ll roll with the Lynx in this one.
