Peyton Stearns finished last season ranked in the world’s Top 50, peaking at No. 47 and owning a 25-23 record across all levels.

Despite an underwhelming start to 2024 in which she lost four matches in a row, Stearns won her maiden WTA title on the clay courts of Rabat at the end of May. 

She reached the third-round stage of the French Open and US Open, along with her first WTA 1000 quarterfinal in Toronto.

Her last match was in September where she lost to Anna Kalinskaya in the third round of the China Open.

The American is competing in the Brisbane main draw for the second year in a row. Last year, she was beaten by Camila Giorgi in three sets in the opening round.
