Musetti compiled 40% of return points (40/101) and broke Bu three times in the match. He improves to 9-4 for the season. Musetti has reached the quarterfinals in Monte Carlo once before and lost to countryman Jannik Sinner. Last year, he was knocked out in the last 16 by Novak Djokovic.

This will be a cracking contest in front of a divided crowd (at least that’s what we can expect when two Italians face off in Monte Carlo). But I have to give a slight edge to Berrettini. He’s coming off a massive win over top seed Alexander Zverev. He’s using his serve expertly to set up points for routine winners. Unless Musetti can disrupt his rhythm, which he is capable of doing, but has lacked the consistency to get under the opponent’s skin this season, then I expect Berrettini to power to another victory and into the quarterfinals.
