Jannik Sinner and Arthur Rinderknech meet in the first round of the 2025 French Open at Roland Garros. The match is scheduled for Sunday, May 25. Here’s our Jannik Sinner vs Arthur Rinderknech prediction. This preview will also include Jannik Sinner vs Arthur Rinderknech pick.
Â
Jannik Sinner Preview
Jannik Sinner will compete in his third tournament of the season. He is the World No. 1 and top seed at this year’s French Open. Sinner’s best at Roland Garros was reaching the last four last season, where he lost to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz in five sets.
Sinner’s 26-match undefeated run was ended by the Spaniard in Rome this past weekend, where he made his return from a three-month doping suspension. Sinner holds a 12-1 record in 2025. He won the Australian Open and was a runner-up at the Italian Open. Because of his excellent level in Rome, Sinner chose to withdraw from the Hamburg Open, deeming the matches he played in the Eternal City sufficient for his rhythm and sharpness. Sinner has won the last two Grand Slams, but has never lifted the French Open.

Arthur Rinderknech Preview
Arthur Rinderknech is the World No. 72. He is a former Top 50 player on the ATP Tour. Rinderknech will be playing at his home Grand Slam. His record at the French Open is not the best. This is his sixth main draw. He has lost in the first round three times and advanced to the second round in each of his last two trips. However, Rinderknech has not beaten a player of the caliber of Jannik Sinner in Paris.Â
Rinderknech holds a 5-7 record on clay this season, having lost three of his last four matches coming to the French Open. Rinderknech last competed in the Geneva Open and lost 4-6, 1-6 to Hubert Hurkacz. His last Grand Slam match win was at the 2024 US Open when he beat Christopher Eubanks.

Jannik Sinner vs Arthur Rinderknech Head-To-Head
Sinner and Rinderknech have met three times on the ATP level. Sinner has a 2-1 lead over the Frenchman. Rinderknech’s win over the Italian was on clay in Lyon, but that was four years ago.
Â
Jannik Sinner vs Arthur Rinderknech Prediction
Rinderknech has a victory over Sinner on clay and on French soil (Lyon). But that was before Sinner was an established Grand Slam-winning machine. The Italian has played just two tournaments this season, but that won’t be too much of an issue in steamrolling past Rinderknech in his opening match at the French Open. Sinner played superbly in Rome and was only beaten by the best clay-court player of this generation. We must also acknowledge that Sinner has won the last two Majors on offer. This should be a routine win for the top seed.
