Jack Draper makes his debut appearance in Dubai as the fourth seed. The British lefty is playing in his first tour-level tournament of the season after recovering from a serious arm injury. Draper played his final tournament of 2025 last August at the US Open, where he was forced to withdraw in the second round. Draper was unable to return to competition for the remainder of last season.

His plans to start the year in Australia did not come to fruition, and he was forced to miss the Australian Open in order to continue rehabbing. Halys delivered his best run in this tournament last season, where he also needed to go through qualifying before upsetting Andrey Rublev on his way to the semifinals.  Halys has compiled 12 wins and 7 losses in 2026. He has reached the last 16 in at least three tournaments, with his most recent one coming in Doha as a lucky loser.
