The Line: Betting Odds: Jack Draper -250 / Jiri Lehecka +190
Jack Draper and Jiri Lehecka meet in the semifinal of the 2025 HSBC Championships at Queen’s in London. The match is scheduled for Saturday, June 21. Here’s our Jack Draper vs Jiri Lehecka prediction. This preview will also include a Jack Draper vs Jiri Lehecka pick.
Jack Draper Preview
Jack Draper overcame American Brandon Nakashima in three sets to reach the Queen’s semifinal for the first time. Draper improves his record in ATP 500 events to 8-3 and is attempting to become the first British man to reach the final at Queen’s since Cameron Norrie four years ago. If he does so and wins this tournament, it will mark the first time a British player has won it since Andy Murray in 2016.
Draper was obviously more interested in securing a Top 4 seeding at Wimbledon, and he had to reach the semis here at Queen’s to be certain of that, and now that he’s knocked off that goal, he can aim to reach the championships. So far, his level has fluctuated throughout the week, needing three sets also to beat Alexei Popyrin in the last 16.
Jiri Lehecka Preview
Jiri Lehecka notched a 100th ATP match win on Friday, beating rising British star Jacob Fearnley in straight sets. The first set was particularly tight, but once Lehcka got it in the bag, he was just a class above Fearnley in the second, breezing to win the match 7-5, 6-2.
Before that, Lehecka had taken out Alex de Minaur and Libema Open champion Gabriel Diallo in straight sets. The 23-year-old has not lost a set in this tournament, where he is competing for the second time in his career, and it is already an improvement from 2023, when he lost in the last 16.
While Czech players have dominated Wimbledon, you’d have to go back to 1990 for the last time a Czech reached the Queen’s final. That year, Ivan Lendl won it. Maybe that long drought would fuel Lehecka’s drive to win Saturday’s semifinal, but he’s up against the best British player of the current generation. Will Lehecka upset the odds?
Jack Draper vs Jiri Lehecka Head-To-Head
Draper and Lehecka have met three times on the ATP level, and it is the Brit who leads 2-1. Draper won their last meeting at the 2025 Qatar Open on hard courts in three sets. They have never played each other on grass.
Jack Draper vs Jiri Lehecka Prediction
Lehecka has made it no secret he loves playing on grass, and he’s looked unbeatable this tournament. The quality of opponents he’s tamed to reach here was top-notch. But the level of competition doesn’t get any easier from this stage against the British No. 1 here and potentially the reigning Wimbledon champion in the final. But I have to go with another Draper win. This is a matchup of very fine margins. Both players like to take control of the baseline, and Draper has a better command of points under pressure. And home surface comfort might just help him navigate another tricky contest.
