World No. 238  Alex Bolt will face World No. 518 Tung-Lin Wu in the final of the Brisbane 4 Challenger on Sunday, November 16. Here’s our Alex Bolt vs Tung-Lin Wu prediction. This preview will also include an Alex Bolt vs Tung-Lin Wu pick.

Alex Bolt vs Tung-Lin Wu Preview

Alex Bolt reached his third Challenger final of the season on home soil at the Brisbane 4 Challenger. Bolt beat countryman Dane Sweeny in straight sets in the semifinals. That match took 19 games to decide and lasted an hour and 26 minutes. In the victory, Bolt hit 12 aces to 0 double faults. He landed 57% of first serves in play and won 91% of first serve points (29/32). Bolt won 54% of second serve points (13/24) and did not face a break point in the match.

Bolt improves his record at the Challenger level this season to 19-14. He has reached two finals this year, losing in Wuxi and Jingshan. Bolt is a three-time Challenger champion but his last title win at that level was in Nottingham four years ago.

Tung-Lin Wu, for his part, won the all-qualifier meeting against 20-year-old Japanese Hayato Matsuoka to advance to the Brisbane 4 Challenger final. Wu won the first set 6-3, having garnered the only break of serve in the second game. Wu briefly went up a break at the start of the second set, but lost that lead in the fourth game when Matsuoka broke back.

A tiebreak was needed to settle things, and it was Wu who came out on top in dominant fashion, winning 7-4. Wu hit 6 aces to 1 double fault in the victory. He landed 71% of first serves in play and won 72% of first serve points (43/60). Wu won 54% of second serve points (13/24) and saved six of seven break points. This will be Wu’s first Challenger final of the season. His last title win was at the start of last season.

Alex Bolt vs Tung-Lin Wu Head-To-Head

Tung-Lin Wu beat Alex Bolt in their only career meeting at the 2019 Seoul Challenger in straight sets.

Alex Bolt vs Tung-Lin Wu Prediction

Tung-Lin Wu’s run to the final has been near flawless, with just one set dropped from qualifying. But Alex Bolt has been just as dominant, having completed a clean sweep of eight sets this week, and only given away more than four games in a set only once. The Australian is only chasing his first title at this level in four years and that drought and another stellar serving day should help him ease to victory.

Nur Said's Pick: Alex Bolt in straight sets
