The Kazakh is only 2-5 for the season and his ranking has taken a hit after failing to defend his Montpellier title. His last appearance was in Marseille and fell in the round of 16 to eventual champion Ugo Humbert.

The Kazakh is a flashy shotmaker in his own right and has mastered every shot in the book, but he’s wildly inconsistent. When his game is not clicking, he is usually susceptible to many errors. That’s why I’m on Rublev despite the unhealthy odds. I thought his level in Rotterdam was quite decent and if he can keep Bublik guessing with his massive swings, he’ll win this.
