Amanda Anisimova Preview
Amanda Anisimova is the No. 8 seed at Queen’s Club and started the week with a hard-fought three-set win over British wild card Jodie Burrage. Anisimova lost the first set 6-4 after a shaky service game early on, but won the next two sets 6-3, 6-4. In the second round, Anisimova faced another British player.
This time, she beat World No. 50 Sonay Kartal 6-1, 6-3. Anisimova converted six of seven breakpoints in a dominant performance. She progressed into her first quarterfinal on grass since the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. Anisimova improves her lifetime record on grass to 15-9, but she has never been to a semifinal on this surface. If that is to change, it will most likely happen this week, with Anisimova enjoying a spectacular season, winning her first WTA 1000 in Doha earlier this year. With 21 wins this season, Anisimova has equalled her win tally from the 2024 season. She has won five of her last six matches across all surfaces.

Emma Navarro Preview
Emma Navarro bounced back from a shocking French Open demolition against Bouzas Maneiro, where she won just one game in the first round. She entered the Queen’s tournament as the No. 3 seed and one of three players ranked in the Top 10. So she received a bye in the first round. Her campaign started in the second round against Beatriz Haddad Maia, whom she lost to in the last warm-up tournament before Roland Garros.
Navarro had a tough start to life on the grass swing, dropping the first set to the Brazilian 6-1. Serving to stay in the match at 5-4 in the second set, Navarro saved one match point with an incredible passing shot. She would force a tie-break where she trailed again, 4-2, only to summon another comeback after a short medical intervention to tend to an ailing fan in the stands. Navarro overpowered Haddad Maia 6-3 in the decider to reach her sixth quarterfinal of the season.

Amanda Anisimova vs Emma Navarro Head-To-Head
Anisimova leads Navarro 3-0 in the head-to-head. They have played twice on hard courts and once on clay, but never on grass. This will be their second meeting of 2025. Anisimova won on the green clay of Charleston a few months ago.

Amanda Anisimova vs Emma Navarro Prediction
I’m picking Anisimova. She’s been feeling it this week, hammering the ball with so much purpose and precision. Navarro doesn’t give much away in terms of free points, but on the evidence of her last two or three performances, she’s looked error-prone and has had to rely so much on a drop in levels from opponents. Anisimova will be locked in. When she reaches this stage of a tournament, her game flows smoothly and keeps unforced errors manageable. Give me Anisimova for a spot in the semis at Queen’s
