Inter Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk are facing-off in the Semifinals of the Europa League in Germany at Merkur Spiel-Arena.

FC Shakhtar Donetsk is a Ukranian team that has found a lot of success and they hope they can win two more games to take home the title. Coming into this one, FC Shakhtar Donetsk have won seven games in a row and most of the wins have been ultra impressive. Shakhtar Donetsk’s last win came against Basel in the Europa League quarter final. Just taking a look at the stats besides goal, the stats don’t really pop out, but they still made the most of their chances. 

Shakhtar Donetsk had 56 percent of the possession and eight shots on goal, compared to Basel who only put two shots on goal. Shakhtar Donetsk had a goal by Junior Moraes in the second minute, and they never looked back. Donetsk had goals in the 22nd, 75th, and 88th minute, and even though they gave up one goal, there never really was any doubt that they would come out ahead.

On the other side of this matchup is Inter Milan who also are playing really well coming into this game having won five games in a row. Their last game came against Leverkusen in the Europa League, a game they won 2-1.In that game both of the gaols for Inter Milan came in the first 21 minutes, and their only goal they gave up was in the 24th minute. 

The game was a bit odd for Inter Milan as they only had 36 percent of the possession,but even though they didn’t have a lot of the possession, they only allowed two shots on goals and that was enough to come away with a victory. In this game, they are going to either need to get that first goal again or they are going to need good defense to make life tough on Shakhtar Donetsk. 

Inter Milan is the better team in this matchup and that is going to be the difference in this game. Look for INter to get that first goal early and the defense will take over after that. Back Inter on the money line.
