The Seattle Kraken and the Minnesota Wild meet Saturday night in NHL action from the Xcel Energy Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Seattle Kraken vs. Minnesota Wild prediction.
Seattle Kraken Recap
The Seattle Kraken come into this one looking to bounce back after their season-opening 3-2 loss at the hands of the St. Louis Blues last time out. After this game, the Kraken will head to Dallas for the second leg of their back-to-back.
Kraken Looking To Get In The Win Column For First Time
Eeli Tolvanen and Vince Dunn each had a goal for a Kraken in the loss with Dunn and Oliver Bjorkstrand tying for the team-high with 4 shots apiece so far this season. Ryker Evans, Will Borgen, and Jordan Eberle each have chipped in an assist as well so far on the year. Phillipp Grubauer ended up with the loss in the opener, sitting with a 0-1 record and a 3.09 GAA, allowing 3 goals on 25 shots faced in the loss.
Why the Seattle Kraken will win

- The Kraken have covered the puck line in each of their last five night games following a loss.
- The Wild have failed to cover the puck line in each of their last five games at Xcel Energy Center.
Minnesota Wild Recap

Wild Looking To Come Out Of The Gate Strong
Matt Boldy has a team-high 3 points with a goal and 2 assists while Marcus Johansson also has a pair of assists as well. Mats Zuccarello and Joel Eriksson Ek each have a goal while Jonas Brodin and Kirill Kaprizov each have an assist as well on the year. Filip Gustavsson is 1-0 with a 2.00 GAA and a .939 save percentage so far this season after stopping 31 of 33 shots faced in the winning effort.
Why the Minnesota Wild will win

- The Wild have covered the puck line in four of their last five games as favorites against Pacific Division opponents.
Kraken vs. Wild Prediction
I’m on the Kraken here. I think that the Wild are just going to be overpriced early on and while Gustavsson had a nice start, he still had a sub-.900 save percentage last year and I’m not jumping on board after one good outing. The Kraken were really competitive in their opener and were unlucky to lose that game, but I think that they bounce back and get some nice plus money in doing so.
