Flyers Look to Bounce Back

In the first game, the Flyers were able to beat the Canucks 3-2, but in the last game against the Calgary Flames, they really struggled. On Sunday the Flyers scored three goals but the defense gave up six and that led to the defeat. Even though the defense struggled, Travis Konecny finished with two goals and five shots on goal. Ivan Fedorov started in goal and he wasn’t good enough. The offense did have 40 shots on goal they just faced a hot goaltender. In this game for the Flames to find success they are going to need to need the defense to step up in a big way.

Why the Flyers Will Beat the Oilers

  • The underdogs have won each of the Oilers’ last four games.
  • The Oilers have lost each of their last three games as home favorites.
  • The Flyers have covered the puck line in each of their last four games as underdogs following a road loss.
  • The Oilers have failed to cover the puck line in each of their last three home games.
  • The Flyers have won the second period in four of their last five games.

What an Awful Start for the Oilers

The Oilers still believe they can win the Stanley Cup but it’s been quite the awful start to the season. The Oilers have lost three straight games and during those games, they have scored only three goals total while the defense has given 15 goals. In the last game, Jeff Skinner scored the only goal and the stars of this team still aren’t doing enough. Connor McDavid had five shots on goal and one assist, but they needed him to score goals. Starting in goal was Stuart Skinner and he saved 25 of the 28 shots that he faced. The Oilers will play against the Predators and Stars following this game.

Philadelphia Flyers vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction

The Flyers are going to have little issues in this game. The Oilers defense has been so bad heading into this game and it’s not going to get any easier in this game. The Flames offense has been inconsistent but they are going to have no issue running up the score here, and that is going to be the difference here. The Oilers offense won’t be keeping up and the Flyers are going to come out on top.
