In this article, we will formulate a Minnesota Wild vs Vancouver Canucks Prediction for this NHL game on Friday, March 7th  at the Rogers Arena. To formulate this prediction, we will look at:

-The Canadiens’ recent form and recent player performance

-The Wild’s recent form and recent player performance

-Recent Betting trends and streaks involving Minnesota

-Recent Betting trends and streaks involving Vancouver

-Recent betting trends in games played between Minnesota and Vancouver

-A summary that ties it all together produces a favorable betting outcome for Today’s Game between the Wild and Canucks.

Wild Have Confidence Again

The Wild are still dealing with injuries heading into this game, but they have started winning again and two games in a row. Two games ago, against the Boston Bruins, they secured a 1-0 victory, and against the Kraken in the last game, they picked up a 4-3 win. At the end of the first period, they were up 2-1, and they held on the rest of the way to pick up the win. The Wild had four different players that scored a goal. Filip Gustavson was in goal, and he saved 33 of the 36 shots that he faced.

The Wild’s offense has been inconsistent, but for the most part, the defense and goaltending have been good. The Wild are averaging 2.82 goals, while their defense is giving up 2.85 goals per game. Opponents only shoot 9.52 percent, which is 7th best in the league. Kirill Kaprizov is dealing with a lower-body injury and is still out. Gustavsson will get the start in goal, sits with a 24-13-3 record overall, and gives up 2.62 goals per game. The Wild will face the Penguins following this one.

Why the Wild Will Beat the Canucks

  • The Canucks have lost each of their last 11 games at Rogers Arena following a home win.
  • The Wild have won seven of their last eight games as underdogs against the Canucks.
  • The Canucks have failed to cover the puck line in each of their last 11 games as favorites.
  • The underdogs have covered the puck line in each of the Canucks’ last seven games at Rogers Arena.
  • The Canucks have lost the third period in each of their last six games against Western Conference opponents.

Can Canucks Build on the Last Game?

The Canucks have been inconsistent at best heading into this game, but they are coming off a key win in the last game. The Cancuks faced off against the Anaheim Ducks and secured a 3-2 victory. John Gibson and Lukas Dostal combined in goal for a victory. Sam Colangelo had a strong game on the ice, scoring a goal. Two games ago against the Vancouver Canucks, the Kraken were defeated 6-3. The goaltending and defense are going to need to be a whole lot better.

The Canucks are averaging 2.74 goals, while their defense is giving up 3.03 goals per game. If they want a chance to succeed in this game, the defense will need to be a lot better. If the defense struggles here, this is going to be a long game. Quinn Hughes missed the last game with an undisclosed injury and it’s unclear if he’s going to be able to go in this game. Kevin Lankinen is expected to get the start for the Canucks, and he has a 21-10-7 record, and he’s giving up 2.54 goals per game.

Minnesota Wild vs Vancouver Canucks Prediction

The Wild might be on the road, but they are still going to find success. I really trust the way Gustavsson has played heading into this game, and he’s going to dominate in this game. The Wild aren’t exactly an elite offensive team, but with their goaltending, they aren’t going to need to score more here. There is just too much value here, especially with the Wild being the underdogs here. Back the WIld on the money line. Also, don’t be afraid to sprinkle a little bit on the Wild reverse puck line.
