The Pittsburgh Steelers went 10-7 last season and they finished second in the AFC North standings, which was two games behind the first place Ravens. Pittsburgh started the season red hot, but they lost their last four games in the regular season. The Steelers picked up wins against the Falcons, Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, Jets, Giants, Commanders, Ravens, Browns, and Bengals, while they lost to the Colts, Cowboys, Browns, Eagles, Ravens, Chiefs, and Bengals. Pittsburgh did make the playoffs, but they lost their first game against Buffalo by a score of 28-14. The Steelers scored 22.4 points per game last year, which was ranked 16th, while they allowed 20.4 points against per game, which was ranked 8th. 

Pittsburgh went 0-3 in the 2024 preseason, which was tied with the Bengals and Browns in the AFC North. The Steelers lost to Houston by a score of 20-12, Buffalo by a score of 9-3, and Detroit by a score of 24-17. Pittsburgh is not expected to play many of their starters, which includes Aaron Rodgers, so we will see Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson under center for the Steelers. Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Preview

The Jacksonville Jaguars were 4-13 last year and they finished third in the AFC South, just one game ahead of the last place Titans. Jacksonville started the season with four straight losses and they never won two games in a row across the entire campaign. The Jaguars picked up wins against the Colts, Patriots, and Titans (2), while they lost to the Dolphins, Browns, Bills, Texans (2), Bears, Packers, Eagles, Vikings, Lions, Jets, Raiders, and Colts. Jacksonville scored 18.8 points per game last year, which was 26th in the NFL, while they allowed 25.6 points against per game, which was 27th. 

Jacksonville went 3-0 in the 2024 preseason, as they tied Tennessee for first in the AFC South. The Jaguars defeated Kansas City by a score of 26-13, Tampa Bay by a score of 20-7, and Atlanta by a score of 31-0 last year. Jacksonville is expected to play their starters for at least a portion of the first half, which means we should see Trevor Lawrence under center. Once he is out, we will see Nick Mullens and John Wolford take the majority of the snaps. Both of these quarterbacks do have experience and should be able to operate the offense just fine. 

Steelers vs Jaguars Prediction 

Jacksonville comes into this matchup as the favorite to win the game, which makes sense, as Pittsburgh is not planning to play their starters. I do think the Jaguars have a huge advantage in the first half of this game, but I think the second half will be very even with all of the backup quarterbacks having some experience. We should see both offenses move the ball up and down the field in this game and I think we will see plenty of scoring, so I like the over here.
