New York Jets Betting Preview
In 2024 it was another year and another losing record for the struggling Jets. New York played their fourth and final season under head coach Robert Saleh on the way to a 5-12 result, and general manager Joe Douglas was also fired along the way. None of it mattered much in another lost season as the Jets skidded into third place among the AFC East. Furthermore, it was another year tacked on to the longest active playoff drought in professional sports. It’s been 14 seasons since the Jets were last in the playoffs back in 2010. After a 2-6 start New York had little hope of avoiding their ninth straight losing campaign.Â
The Jets got a bit of good news in their first action of the 2025 season against the Green Bay Packers. New York was able to put up points in every quarter along the way to a nice 30-10 victory. QB Adrian Martinez looked good with 152 yards and a score off 11-of-16 passing. Donovan Edwards led the rush with nine carries for 42 yards, while new arrival Justin Fields scored a rush touchdown and threw for 42 yards on 3-of-4 passing. Andrew Beck was the team’s top receiver on 36 yards off two catches.Â
New York Giants Betting Preview
As the other bad New York football team, the Giants had a rough year in 2024 also. Not to be outdone, they limped to a 3-14 overall record in their 100th season in the NFL. It was also the Giants’ first season since 2017 without Saquon Barkley on the roster, who went on to win a championship with the rival Philadelphia Eagles. In any case, New York was the first team in the league to be eliminated from playoff contention (on Thanksgiving Day, no less) and bagged their first 10-game losing streak in franchise history. A Week 17 upset win over the Indianapolis Colts kept New York from going winless at home and was one of the few bright spots overall.Â
The Giants started out well in their opening preseason game versus the Buffalo Bills, scoring points in every quarter during a 34-25 victory. The Giants’ Jaxson Dart put up 154 pass yards and a score on 12-of-19 overall. Tommy DeVito added 10-of-14 for 73 yards and a TD of his own, and Dante Miller led the receivers on seven catches for 80 yards. Dart led the rushing attack as well with three carries for 24 yards in the win.Â

Jets vs Giants PredictionÂ
I’ll probably just stick with the Giants, but you could call this one either way. In their matchup with the Bills last week, New York looked good through the air on 317 passing yards (396 total), 5.2 yards per play, 21 first downs and no turnovers. It wasn’t all great with 10 penalties for 70 yards overall, but the defense held up pretty well despite 331 pass yards and 7.1 yards per play allowed. The Giants’ third-down stops were stellar, allowing only one of nine to be converted.Â
The Jets posted 403 yards (256 passing) in a pretty nice offensive effort against the Pack, but also played a sloppy game on 10 penalties for 91 yards. I like the Giants to be slightly more disciplined here but it’s a coin flip.Â
