New York Jets Betting Preview
The Same Ol’ Jets suffered yet another dismal and disappointing season in 2024, falling desperately short of expectations for the second straight year. New York limped to a rough 5-12 record and a third-place spot in the AFC East. After yet another absence from the playoffs, the Jets now own the longest active playoff drought in American professional sports. The last time New York saw the postseason was way back in 2010, and last year’s hijinks led to the dismissal of both head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas.Â
So what will 2025 have in store for the Jets? Well, we can start with the arrival of first-year general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn. Their first order of business will be attempting to reverse a string of consecutive losing records that has persisted for nine years. New York picked up some draft help for the offensive line, bagging OT Armand Membou (Missouri) in the first round. He was followed up by TE Mason Taylor (LSU) in the second and CB Azareye’h Thomas (Florida State) in the third.Â
Green Bay Packers Betting Preview
Over on the Green Bay side, they had significantly more success in the win column last year. The Pack were able to improve on 2023’s 9-8 record, going 11-6 overall. That said, Green Bay finished in just third place among a very competitive NFC North. The Packers’ record was good enough for a Wild Card playoff berth, but the postseason run was short-lived. Green Bay would fall to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 22-10 in that opening round. It was the first time the Packers had lost a Wild Card game since 2013.Â
Green Bay gets head coach Matt LaFleur back in the saddle for his seventh season. LaFleur will be attempting to get the team back to the playoffs for the third straight year—and hopefully win a few more after that. The Packers went offense-heavy in the early rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft, leading with WR Matthew Golden (Texas) in the first round and OT Anthony Belton (NC State) in the second. That pair was followed by another WR in the third, former TCU standout Savion Williams. If all three can click quickly, Green Bay’s passing attack will have plenty of youthful energy this season.Â

Jets vs Packers PredictionÂ
I’m just going to stay with the Packers. Expectations are pretty high in Green Bay heading into 2025—even with a pretty tough schedule on paper. The Packers’ main concern will be winning more divisional games this season; they went just 1-5 among the NFC North a year ago. Winning the division is probably a tall order at this point, however another Wild Card berth is likely still the odds-on scenario here.Â
As for the lowly Jets, they’ve got very little pressure on their shoulders following yet another tumultuous season at MetLife Stadium. New York’s projected win total hovers around 5.5 in most places—a very achievable goal. Getting to the playoffs is pretty unlikely, however finishing in the neighborhood of 6-7 wins will probably still make most fans happy with the direction.Â
