Los Angeles Rams Betting Preview
The Rams have five games in the bag so far this year, powering out a 3-2 record along the way. Los Angeles opened with a tight 14-9 win over the Houston Texans, then beat the Tennessee Titans 33-19. In game three LA took their first loss of the year 33-26 versus the Philadelphia Eagles, then bagged a win over the Indianapolis Colts 27-20. In that victory the Rams mustered 462 total yards, 6.6 yards per play and 24 first downs but also went just 4-of-12 on third downs. The defense came away with three takeaways however, and the team benefitted from 11 Colts penalties in the win.
Last Thursday versus the San Francisco 49ers, the Rams took their second loss of the year. LA came back from a 17-7 first-half deficit to force overtime but ended up losing 26-23 in the end. QB Matthew Stafford logged a 30-of-47 line for 389 yards and three scores, while Davante Adams led the receivers on five catches and 88 yards. Puka Nacua caught 10 balls for 85 yards and a score, while Kyren Williams led the rush on 65 yards from 14 carries.

Over on the Ravens’ side, they’ve faced some tough teams in the early-going this year and have a choppy record because of it. Baltimore fell in a tough one versus the Buffalo Bills 41-40 in the opener, then beat the Browns 41-17 in game two. Game three was a 38-30 loss to the Detroit Lions, then came a 37-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. In that defeat the Ravens managed just 3-of-10 on third-down tries and had two turnovers. On defense Baltimore held KC to just 5-of-15 on third downs but also gave up 382 total yards and 24 first downs.
Matched up against the Houston Texans on Sunday the Ravens gave up points in every quarter—including double-digits in each of the last three frames—on the way to an embarrassing blowout home loss 44-10. QB Cooper Rush finished 14-of-20 for 179 yards and three interceptions, while Derrick Henry led the rush on 15 carries, 33 yards and a TD. Zay Flowers was the leading receiver in the losing effort with five grabs for 72 yards in total.
Rams vs Ravens Prediction
I’m going to stay with the Ravens, but I’m not touching it. This play is going to hinge on Lamar Jackson’s status, and the line will move along with it. Long story short, it’ll be in limbo all week. That said, Baltimore is reeling after getting pummeled at home by the Texans to the tune of just 207 total yards (163 passing), 12 first downs and three picks. It’s tough to imagine a significant rebound after that performance but it might be worth a stab on an inflated line.
As for the Rams, they were a mixed bag at home versus a good San Francisco team last week. LA gathered 378 yards through the air with 7.1 yards per play and 27 first downs but also had a couple of lost fumbles. The defense gave up 333 passing yards and 27 first downs themselves as well. Los Angeles has 23 or more points in four straight games (a 2-2 run) so it’ll be interesting to see how they score in this one.
Andrew Jett's Pick: Baltimore Ravens +7.5
