Miami Dolphins Betting Preview

The Miami Dolphins are 0-0-1 in the preseason after they tied Chicago by a score of 24-24 last week. There were no points in the first quarter of this game, but Miami led 14-10 at halftime. In the second half, the Dolphins trailed 17-14 after three and 24-21 in the fourth, but they tied the game with 6:22 left, which was the end of the scoring. Miami was out gained by a total of 295-272, went 7-16 on third down, and lost the turnover battle 2-1 in the game. Zach Wilson went 5-9 for 96 yards, Quinn Ewers went 5-18 for 91 yards, and Tua Tagovailoa went 5-6 for 27 yards in the tie. Ollie Gordon II rushed for 33 yards and a score, while Tahj Washington caught three passes for 53 yards. The Miami defense was led by Britt and Tindall, who both had six tackles, while Murphy and McLendon each added a full sack. 

Miami went 2-1 in the preseason last year with wins over Atlanta and Washington by scores of 20-13 and 13-6, but they lost the finale by a score of 24-14 to Tampa Bay. The Dolphins are not expected to play their starters in this game, so we will see Zach Wilson and Quinn Ewers at quarterback in this one. 

Detroit Lions Betting Preview

The Detroit Lions are 1-1 in the preseason after they beat Atlanta by a score of 17-10 last week. Detroit trailed 3-0 after the first quarter and 10-7 at halftime, but they scored the only 10 points in the third quarter, before the game was called in the fourth due to a severe injury. The Lions out gained Atlanta by a total of 246-207, went 3-9 on third down, and lost the turnover battle 2-0 in the win. Kyle Allen went 7-8 for 120 yards and two touchdowns, while Hendon Hooker went 7-10 for 38 yards and one fumble lost. Jacob Saylors rushed for 35 yards, while Jackson Meeks caught three passes for 78 yards and one score in the win. Detroit’s defense was led by Hallett, who had four tackles in the game, while Muhammad and Lynn picked up sacks. 

Detroit started the 2025 preseason with a 34-7 blowout loss to the Chargers in the Hall of Fame game, where pretty much everything went wrong from the opening kickoff. The Lions are expected to roll with Hendon Hooker and Kyle Allen under center once again, but Hooker has been pretty bad in limited action this year.

Dolphins vs Lions Prediction 

Detroit was able to get a win in their last game against Atlanta, which was a nice bounce back after that Hall of Fame game disaster. The Lions didn’t get to play the entire fourth quarter, but Kyle Allen looked sharp at QB. Miami was able to score 24 points in their first game, but they are not expected to play any starters like they did in that one. I don’t think either quarterback room is particularly strong, but I don’t trust Hendon Hooker at all, so give me the Dolphins to get the road win.
