Cleveland Browns Betting Preview
Cleveland had a pretty nice preseason overall, for what it’s worth. The Browns were able to win all three exhibition games, starting with a 30-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers in the opener. Cleveland would then dispatch the champion Philadelphia Eagles 22-13 in game two before a 19-17 win over the Los Angeles Rams in the finale. During the victory over the Rams, Cleveland’s Dillon Gabriel was 12-of-19 for 129 yards and a score, while Joe Flacco went 9-of-10 for 71 yards and a TD of his own. Leading the receivers during the win was Jamari Thrash with three catches for 42 yards.
In their season opener versus the Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland trailed 14-10 by the break. The Browns posted six more points in the third but couldn’t make the comeback in a heartbreaker 17-16 defeat. Flacco was 31-of-45 this time for 290 yards, one TD and two interceptions. Dylan Sampson rushed 12 times for 29 yards, and Jerry Jeudy led the receivers on five grabs for 66 yards in the loss.
Baltimore Ravens Betting Preview
Over on the Ravens’ side, they also had a very nice preseason. Baltimore won all three of their games as well, taking out the Indianapolis Colts 24-16, the Dallas Cowboys 31-13 and the Washington Commanders 30-3. In the big win over Washington, Baltimore’s Devin Leary was 17-of-23 for 71 yards. D’Ernest Johnson topped the rush with 17 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown, but Rasheen Ali was close behind with 36 yards and a score off nine totes.
The Ravens faced a difficult road battle versus the Buffalo Bills in their opener this year, and unfortunately Baltimore came out on the losing end. In the fourth quarter the Ravens were outscored 22-6 and blew a sizable lead in a 41-40 loss. QB Lamar Jackson was 14-of-19 for 209 yards and two pass scores, also notching a rush TD among his six totes for 70 yards. Derrick Henry rushed 18 times for 169 yards and two touchdowns of his own, while Zay Flowers led the receivers on seven grabs for 143 yards and a TD.

Browns vs Ravens Prediction
I’m staying with the Ravens. This should be an interesting game regardless though, as both teams are coming off crushing one-point losses in their debuts this season. Baltimore suffered a fourth-quarter breakdown against a good team, eventually giving up 497 yards (389 passing), 6.4 yards per play, 29 first downs and a 7-of-15 success rate on third-down tries. On offense the Ravens collected 432 yards (238 rushing) and 8.6 yards per play with 19 first downs and a paltry 25:11 in time of possession. Still, if not for a few breaks in the fourth we’d be talking about a Baltimore win here.
As for Cleveland, their defense held strong against Cincinnati for most of the day, giving up just 141 total yards (95 passing) and 11 first downs. If all goes well it’ll be fun to see what they can do against Baltimore in a tricky road matchup this weekend, but I don’t think Cleveland will quite get there cover-wise.
