It’s been a pretty wild year for the Bears already. Chicago kicked things off with a couple of divisional losses: a close one versus the Minnesota Vikings and a blowout defeat at the hands of the Detroit Lions. Over on the Ravens’ side, to say they’ve had an unfortunate and disappointing run in the early-going would be an understatement. Baltimore beat the Browns in week two, but otherwise fell to the Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans in their first five outings. In the Texans loss, Baltimore gained just 207 yards with 12 first downs, three interceptions and 44 rushing yards. The defense gave up 27 first downs and 417 yards total on the other side.

In their latest matchup versus the Los Angeles Rams, the Ravens were able to notch a first-quarter field goal for an early lead. Baltimore wouldn’t score the rest of the afternoon however, and ended up with a 17-3 home loss. QB Cooper Rush went 11-of-19 for 72 yards and an interception, while Derrick Henry led the rush with 24 totes for 122 yards. Zay Flowers was the leading receiver in the defeat with six catches for 46 yards.

Bears vs Ravens Prediction

I’m going to take a stab on the Ravens. Probably not going near this one, though. It’s going to hinge on the availability of Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson, who is coming off a hamstring injury. The line may fluctuate in the meantime so it won’t be a static situation. In any case, Baltimore really needs a lift of some sort, especially after a flat performance versus the Rams. The Ravens posted a tepid 296 yards with three turnovers in that one—though the defense was pretty darn good overall on the other side. After 30 or more points in three straight weeks to start the season, the Ravens have been below 21 points for three straight weeks.

As for Chicago, they’re suddenly 4-2 and looking pretty good overall. The Bears made some mistakes in their weekend win over the Saints (such as the 10 penalties and 3-of-12 on third downs) but it was a nice win thanks in part to four takeaways and 222 rushing yards. That makes four straight wins with 25 or more points scored in each of those outings. This is a game to wait on, but I could see it being competitive regardless.
