Baltimore Ravens Betting Preview

Baltimore had a pretty good season overall in 2024, even though they weren’t able to reach their 2023 win total of 13. The Ravens ultimately finished 12-5 on the year following an 0-2 start. Wins in 12 of the next 15 games (nine over teams with winning records) helped Baltimore clinch their sixth playoff spot in the last seven years and their second consecutive AFC North title. The postseason started out well with a nice win over the rival Pittsburgh Steelers 28-14 in the Wild Card Playoffs. Baltimore was halted in their tracks during the Divisional Playoff however, falling to the Buffalo Bills 27-25. 

Baltimore matched up with the Indianapolis Colts in their first action of the 2025 NFL campaign. The Ravens went into the locker room with a 21-9 lead and were able to hang on for the win 24-16  by game’s end. Baltimore’s passing game wasn’t much to write home about though, as Devin Leary managed 43 yards and a pick on just 3-of-12 passing. Cooper Rush added 16 yards and an interception on 2-of-4 passing. Keaton Mitchell led the rush with 68 yards and a score off nine totes, and D’Ernest Johnson had 18 carries for 57 yards. LaJohntay Wester was the only real bright spot at receiver, catching two balls for 41 yards. 

Dallas Cowboys Betting Preview

Over on the Cowboys’ side, they had a pretty rough year in 2024. Dallas played their fifth and final season under head coach Mike McCarthy, eventually turning in a 7-10 overall record. That mark was only good enough for third place in the division and fell far below the heights of a 12-5 record the three seasons prior. It was the first time the Cowboys had been knocked out of playoff contention since 2020, and they were swept by the rival Philadelphia Eagles for the first time since 2011. There were some major struggles at home; Dallas went just 2-7 at AT&T. 

In their opening preseason matchup, the Cowboys coughed up 14 unanswered points in the first quarter versus the Los Angeles Rams. Dallas got better from there but still lost 31-21 in the end. Joe Milton threw for 143 yards, one TD and one interception on 17-of-29 passing. Malik Davis added seven carries for 63 yards, and Traeshon Holden caught two balls for 42 yards to pace the receiving corps.

Ravens vs Cowboys Prediction 

I’ll stay with Baltimore, but realistically I’m not touching this one. The Ravens’ passing game was pretty anemic in their opening matchup with the Colts, totaling just 49 yards. The run fared better (177 yards) but the result was still only 3.8 yards per play and a pretty rough 5-of-14 on third-down tries—not to mention the two interceptions. Defensively Baltimore gave up 366 total yards (240 passing) and 19 first downs but did pretty well on thirds (6-of-19) and did come up with a pick. The nine Colts penalties didn’t hurt, either. 

Dallas gave up quite a bit to the Rams (364 total yards) on defense in their opener, so there could be some opportunities for the Ravens in this one. That passing game has to get better, though.
