The Washington Wizards pay a visit to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Rocket Arena on Wednesday night.
Washington Wizards Betting Preview
The Washington Wizards have been in decent form lately as they’ve split their last eight games overall, but they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting scorched by the Heat in a 132-101 loss on Sunday. Tristan Vukcevic led the team in scoring with just 14 points off the bench, Justin Champagnie, Kyshawn George and Bub Carrington each scored 13 points while Alex Sarr tallied 12 points with 12 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Wizards shot just 42 percent from the field and 12 of 36 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and leaked 74 points in the first half to trail by 22 points going into halftime and things didn’t get much better in the second half where the deficit just kept growing.
Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been on fire as they have reeled off nine wins in their last 10 games overall and they will be gunning for a fifth straight victory after outlasting the Nuggets in a thrilling 119-117 road win on Monday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 32 points and 10 assists on 11 of 23 shooting, Jarrett Allen and James Harden each scored 22 points while Jaylon Tyson drained four 3-pointers to finish with 16 points. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 45 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep pace with the Nuggets early on and fell behind by 11 points, but despite trailing for most of the game, the Cavaliers did just enough to stay within striking distance until they caught fire late and closed the final 7:17 on a 23-11 run to escape with the unlikely win on the road.
Washington v Cleveland Free Prediction
The Wizards are still missing Trae Young, Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell with Bilal Coulibaly and Kyshawn George both listed as questionable. The line was always going to be hefty for this matchup, but it doesn’t seem too ridiculous if the Cavaliers get off to quick start because they certainly have the firepower to make this a complete blowout. The Wizards are capable of hanging around and getting the backdoor cover, but with George joining their injury report, I am leaning towards the Cavaliers to cruise their way to a blowout win at home.
Peter Tran's Pick: Cleveland -18.5
