Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview
The Philadelphia 76ers have been in decent shape lately as they’ve won four of their last six games overall and they will be hoping to build some momentum after surviving a scare against the lowly Jazz in a 106-102 win on Wednesday. Tyrese Maxey led the team with 25 points and six assists, Jabari Walker added 22 points with 10 rebounds off the bench while Quentin Grimes chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the 76ers shot 45 percent from the field and nine of 35 from the 3-point line as they held the Jazz to just 22 points in the first quarter to jump out in front early but they squandered a 14-point lead and looked to be in trouble before they closed the final 3:35 on a 12-2 run to escape with the narrow win.
Atlanta Hawks Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have made the most of an easy stretch in their schedule as they are now on a five-game win streak after running past the Bucks in a 131-113 road win on Wednesday. Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the team with 23 points on nine of 14 shooting, Onyeka Okongwu added 21 points on nine of 14 shooting, Jalen Johnson tallied 20 points with nine assists while CJ McCollum chipped in with 18 points and eight assists. As a team, the Hawks shot 54 percent from the field and 20 of 45 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 41 points in the second quarter to cut into an early 23-point deficit, before they absolutely dominated the second half by 65-42 to make it a blowout in the end.
Philadelphia v Atlanta Free Prediction
The 76ers are still missing Joel Embiid and Paul George with VJ Edgecombe listed as a game time decision, while the Hawks are keeping an eye on Jonathan Kuminga who is a game time decision with a knee concern. The 76ers are banged up right now and they were far from convincing in their narrow win over the ice-cold Jazz in their last outing, so it’s no surprise to see the Hawks open as favorites at home in this matchup. These teams have already clashed three times with the Hawks winning each game by an average of 7.0 points, so I am more than happy to take them at this short line.
Peter Tran's Pick: Atlanta -5.5
