The Orlando Magic have emerged as one of the form teams in the league as they are now aiming for a third straight victory after blowing past the Nets in a 116-101 home win last night. Franz Wagner led the team in scoring with 29 points, six rebounds, and five assists, Paolo Banchero added 15 points with six rebounds and nine assists while Moritz Wagner chipped in with 18 points on seven of eight shooting off the bench. As a team, the Magic shot 52 percent from the field and 15 of 30 from the 3-point line as they struggled to shake off the pesky Nets in a tightly contested first half before they caught fire and poured in 67 points in the second half to win by double digits for the second straight game. The Magic are still shorthanded with Jonathan Isaac dealing with a hip contusion, while the Grizzlies are still missing Luke Kennard, Jaren Jackson Jr, and GG Jackson. The Magic are almost at full health, they have hit the ground running this season, so it’s no surprise that they’ve opened as favorites on the road. This is a tough one to pick as the Grizzlies will come out swinging after last night’s embarrassing loss, but I am more comfortable going with the more consistent Magic to take advantage of a shorthanded Grizzlies team.
