The Brooklyn Nets travel to the Gainbridge Fieldhouse to take on the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night.
Brooklyn Nets Betting Preview
The Brooklyn Nets have yet to get going this season as they have lost their first five games and they didn’t look great in their 110-94 home defeat to the Pistons on Friday. Moritz Wagner led the team with 16 points on seven of 10 shooting off the bench, Julius Randle added 15 points while Michael Porter Jr chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Nets shot just 40 percent from the field and 11 of 37 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep pace with the Nets and got outscored by a combined 71-38 in the second and third quarters to fall behind by as many as 30 points before they finished with a flurry in garbage time to bring some respectability to the final score.
Indiana Pacers Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers haven’t been much better than the Nets as they have lost four of their last five games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a three-game skid after getting scorched by the Heat in a 145-125 road defeat on Friday. Quenton Jackson led the team with 24 points on nine of 13 shooting off the bench, Andrew Nembhard added 22 points with nine assists while Pascal Siakam and Jay Huff each scored 13 points. As a team, the Pacers shot 48 percent from the field and 17 of 37 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrific start with 42 points in the first quarter but it was all downhill from that point onwards as the Pacers struggled defensively and allowed the Heat to shot 58 percent from the field to finish with a season high 145 points.
Brooklyn v Indiana Free Prediction
The Nets have ruled out Egor Demin and Mikel Brown Jr, while the Pacers are still missing Tyrese Haliburton, Ben Sheppard, TJ McConnell and Ivica Zubac with Obi Toppin listed as questionable. You couldn’t back either side with any confidence right now because both teams have been well below their best. The Nets are still winless after five games while the Pacers have struggled to keep their heads above water with the injuries they’ve had to deal with. This is definitely a game I would rather avoid, but if I had to choose, I prefer a play on the Nets to pull off the upset and claim their first win of the season against a banged up Pacers outfit.
