LA Clippers vs Houston Rockets Player Prop Picks 11/13/24

On November 13, 2024, the Houston Rockets will host the Los Angeles Clippers at Toyota Center, and it’s shaping up to be a competitive matchup. After a rough start in previous years, the Rockets have shown significant improvement under coach Ime Udoka. The team has emerged as a top-five defensive squad, and they’ve been winning games, especially with the dynamic performances of Alperen Sengun and Jalen Green. Their defense has been impressive, ranking third in points allowed, and they’ve been effective on the boards. 

The Los Angeles Clippers have had a somewhat mixed start to the 2024-25 NBA season. As of mid-November, they have a 6-5 record, putting them just outside the top 8 in the Western Conference. Despite this relatively solid record, the Clippers have faced challenges with consistency, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. This team is still missing Kawhi Leonard but have figured out ways to still win games. 

James Harden Under 8.5 Assists

James Harden comes into this game averaging 9.0 assists per game over 11 games. He has played an average of 35.1 minutes per game and contributed a solid 20.8 points alongside his assist numbers. His efficiency in both scoring and playmaking shows his continued value, with a field goal percentage of 52.5% and a 3-point shooting percentage of 30.7%. 

James Harden has had to do it all for this Clippers team to start off the season but he’s facing his toughest challenge yet which is this Rockets defense. The Rockets make it difficult for guards to facilitate and make plays. They’re allowing opposing teams 21.8 assists per game which is the fewest in the league. I expect Harden to get around 7 assists in this game.

Alperen Sengun Under 10.5 Rebounds

Alperen Şengün has been averaging 11.5 rebounds per game across 11 games, playing about 28.6 minutes per contest. His total rebounds this season so far are 127, with a strong emphasis on both offensive and defensive boards. He’s securing 7.7 defensive rebounds per game, and 3.8 offensive rebounds, which shows his effectiveness in controlling the paint.

Sengun has been a menace in the paint as of late even putting up 17 rebounds in his last game. So you might think I’m crazy for taking the under but this is the spot he’ll come down to earth. If there’s one man who can give Sengun problems in the paint that would be Clippers center Zubac. The Clippers are allowing 47.3 rebounds per game to opposition which is the fewest in the whole league. This is a good spot to sell high on Sengun’s rebounds. 

Norman Powell Over 21.5 Points

Norman Powell is having a strong start to the 2024-25 season, averaging 25.5 points per game. He has been efficient in his scoring, shooting 50% or better from the field in several games. For example, he scored 31 points against Oklahoma City on November 11, 2024, shooting 66.7% from the field, and 31 points against Sacramento just days earlier. He is also contributing with solid rebounding (around 3 rebounds per game) and occasional assists.

If there’s one player that has not only surprised me but in my opinion isn’t getting enough credit that would be Norman Powell. He’s gotten 20+ points in every game this season. If you’ve been betting the over on his point total every night you’ve been cashing in. Even though this Rockets defense is elite I can’t help but take Powell to continue to shine in this Clippers offense.
