The Charlotte Hornets have definitely cooled off from their hot start to the season as they are now on a four-game losing streak after getting trampled by the Pistons in a 124-91 home defeat on Monday. Brandon Miller led the team in scoring with 17 points on seven of 18 shooting, Naz Reid added 13 points with six rebounds while Sion James chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Hornets shot an ugly 38 percent from the field and 13 of 44 from the 3-point line which was enough to keep the deficit to just 11 points going into halftime, but their hopes of a comeback were crushed in the second half where the Hornets scored just 37 points to get completely smashed in front of their home fans. Coby White scored just seven points on three of nine shooting while Tidjane Salaun finished with just one point on zero of five shooting off the bench.

Brooklyn Nets Betting Preview 

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have yet to get going this season as they snapped a five-game skid with a nice win over the Pacers, before they got trounced by the Knicks in a 103-90 road defeat on Monday. Julius Randle led the team with 21 points and 11 rebounds, Michael Porter Jr added 18 points while Nolan Traore chipped in with 17 points on six of eight shooting. As a team, the Nets shot just 38 percent from the field and 13 of 38 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 35 points in the third quarter to take the lead heading into the fourth quarter, but that was where things got ugly as the Nets scored just 11 points in the fourth quarter to trail by as many as 16 points at one stage. Moritz Wagner scored just six points on two of seven shooting while Day’Ron Sharpe scored just four points on one of five shooting.

The Hornets are still missing Grant Williams but they expect to have Kon Knueppel back in action, while the Nets are still missing Egor Demin. The Hornets have really struggled to stay competitive so far this season, but they will fancy their chances against the ice-cold Nets who have only won one of their first seven games. You couldn’t back either side with any confidence right now, but Kon Knueppel averaged 18.5 points for the Hornets last season and his return could just be what they need to get back in the win column. This should be a close one, but I am leaning towards the Hornets to get a much needed road win here.
