The Milwaukee Bucks have been in a real slump as they’ve lost six of their first seven games and they are now riding a three-game losing streak after getting thrashed by the Timberwolves in a 112-100 road defeat on Monday. Tyler Herro led the team with 21 points on eight of 18 shooting, Jaime Jacquez Jr added 19 points with eight rebounds while Myles Turner and AJ Green each scored 13 points. As a team, the Bucks shot just 38 percent from the field and 15 of 49 from the 3-point line as they dominated the second quarter to take the lead after trailing by 13 points early on and the game was as close as can be until the fourth quarter where the Timberwolves went on a decisive 7-0 run to pull away at the end. Brayden Burries had a rough game of just nine points on four of 15 shooting while Kyle Kuzma scored just two points on one of six shooting.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics were riding a five-game win streak before they got stopped in their tracks by the Rockets in a 109-93 road defeat on Monday. Jayson Tatum led the team with 19 points, six rebounds and nine assists, Neemias Queta added 16 points on six of seven shooting while Luka Garza chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the Celtics shot just 39 percent from the field and 12 of 42 from the 3-point line as they struggled to score from their usual set plays and scored just 21 points in the second quarter to fall behind and we kept waiting for them to make a comeback, but it never came as the Celtics could only score 43 points in the second half to get blown out in the end. Derrick White had a quiet game of just seven points on three of 12 shooting while the red-hot Payton Pritchard finished with just four points on zero of seven shooting off the bench.

The Bucks don’t have a single player listed on the injury report, while the Celtics have ruled out Devin Carter again and they are keeping an eye on Payton Pritchard and Jayson Tatum who are both questionable for this one. The Bucks have only one win through seven games and their three road games were all double-digit losses so it’s no surprise to see them as heavy underdogs in this matchup. However, the Celtics may decide to rest their top two scorers for this one which makes things a little tricky, so be sure to check the lineups before tipoff. With that being said, I still have the Celtics’ second unit finding a way to get the win at home, but something tells me that the Bucks hang around long enough to get the cover.
