The Denver Nuggets have been in great shape as they’ve won eight of their last 11 games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Bucks in a thrilling 102-100 road win on Friday. Julian Strawther led the team with 20 points, Tim Hardaway Jr added 17 points off the bench while Aaron Gordon and Jalen Pickett each scored 13 points. As a team, the Nuggets shot just 40 percent from the field and 12 of 41 from the 3-point line, but this win was set up by their defense as they restricted the Bucks to just 21 points in each of the first three quarters to take a 23-point lead which proved to be crucial as their lead was cut to just one point with 5.4 seconds left on the clock.

Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been doing it tough lately as they’ve lost nine of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting beaten by the slumping Pelicans in a 133-127 loss on Friday. Jaren Jackson Jr led the team with 26 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks, Jock Landale added 24 points with 11 rebounds while Cam Spencer chipped in with 21 points with 11 assists on seven of nine shooting. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 49 percent from the field and 18 of 47 from the 3-point line as they poured in 65 points in the first half to take a 13-point lead and they held the lead until midway through the fourth quarter where the Pelicans went on a pivotal 14-5 run to start to pull away. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had a night to forget as he shot just one of nine from the field for his four points.

The Nuggets are still playing without Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun with Jonas Valanciunas and Jamal Murray both listed as questionable, while the Grizzlies have ruled out Ty Jerome, Santi Aldama, Ja Morant and Zach Edey again. This is another game where you should check the lineups before tipoff given the injury cloud hanging over the Nuggets, but I still think they have enough firepower to get past the Grizzlies if they defend like they did against the Bucks on Friday. I get why the Grizzlies are favorites at home, but the Nuggets are the team in better form and they could get Murray back, so I will take the Nuggets to pull off the upset here.
