The Line: Betting Odds: New York Knicks -370 / Chicago Bulls +300 — Over/Under: 231
We have a matchup between the Chicago Bulls visiting the New York Knicks in what should be a closely contested matchup at Madison Square Garden. Both teams have been scoring at a similar pace, with Chicago averaging 114.6 points per game and New York at 114.4. The Knicks excel in limiting turnovers, one of the league’s best in this regard. Key players include Zach LaVine for the Bulls and Jalen Brunson for the Knicks.
This game will likely hinge on whether the Bulls’ can counter the Knicks’ defensive discipline and home-court advantage. The Bulls will have the rest advantage with the Knicks being on the back end of a back-to-back. Expect a tight game with both teams pushing for an important win.
Â
Josh Hart Over 9.5 Rebounds
Josh Hart has been a strong rebounder for the New York Knicks, averaging 9.0 rebounds per game. His rebounding is split with 2.1 offensive and 6.9 defensive boards per game, showcasing his ability to contribute on both ends. Known for his hustle and physicality, Hart has solidified himself as a valuable presence in securing possessions, especially for a guard, which adds depth to the Knicks’ rebounding effort.
The Bulls have been weak in the paint this season allowing 29.5 rebounds to opposing teams which is the 2nd most in the league. The Bulls rely heavily on Nikola Vucevic to clean up on the glass but he’ll have his hands full guarding Karl-Anthony Towns which is the leading rebounder for the Knicks. This will set up Josh Hart for a big rebounding game and I expect him to get 10+ in this matchup.Â
Jalen Brunson Over 6.5 Assists
Jalen Brunson is averaging 6.6 assists per game in the 2024-25 season, positioning him as a primary playmaker for the New York Knicks. His role in facilitating the Knicks’ offense has been instrumental, as he creates scoring opportunities through efficient ball distribution, particularly in pick-and-roll situations and in transition. Playing around 34.6 minutes per game, Brunson’s passing complements his own scoring average, balancing his dual responsibilities as both a scorer and facilitator. His contributions are essential to the Knicks’ offense, which currently ranks highly in offensive rating.
Jalen Brunson has stepped up and taken more of a facilitator role this season. In his last two games, he had nine assists against the Bucks and ten assists against the Pacers. This matchup set up nicely for him to have another big game dishing the rock with the Bulls allowing 29.5 assists to opposing teams which is the 2nd highest in the league.Â
Nikola Vucevic Over 1.5 Three Pointers
Nikola Vucevic has been highly efficient from beyond the arc in the 2024-25 season, shooting 47.5% on three-pointers. Averaging 2.1 made threes on 4.4 attempts per game, he has added consistent spacing to the Chicago Bulls’ offense, giving them a valuable stretch big who can score both inside and out. Vucevic’s shooting has made him a crucial floor-spacer, contributing to his overall scoring average of 20.8 points per game.
I’ve been cashing in this season taking the over on Vucevic’s threes. He’s gotten 2+ threes in 7 of his last 10 games and in two of those games, he made four from beyond the arc. Even though the Knicks are a good defensive team they’re allowing 13.7 three-pointers to opposing teams which is above the league average. This has been one of my favorite bets this NBA season and I’m going right back to it Wednesday night.Â
