The Charlotte Hornets have been on a fantastic run as they’ve won 15 of their last 18 games overall and they are now aiming for a sixth straight victory after making light work of the Mavericks in a 117-90 home win last night. Brandon Miller led the team with 17 points, five rebounds and four assists, LaMelo Ball added 15 points with nine assists and five steals while Kon Knueppel and Sion James each scored 13 points. As a team, the Hornets shot 48 percent from the field and 20 of 51 from the 3-point line as they kept the Mavericks in check early on to take a narrow lead, before they finally hit their groove and dominated the second half by 60-42 to make it look easy in the end. It was a real balanced scoring effort as the Hornets had a total of eight players scoring at least 10 points.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have been on fire as they’ve won 12 of their last 14 games overall and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after blowing past the shorthanded Bucks in a 108-81 road win on Monday. Payton Pritchard bounced back from his previous game where he went scoreless to lead the team with 25 points and nine assists off the bench, Derrick White and Hugo Gonzalez each scored 18 points while Nikola Vucevic chipped in with 10 points and seven assists. As a team, the Celtics shot 43 percent from the field and drained 20 of 50 from the 3-point line but this win was more about their defense as they held the Bucks to just 20 points in the first quarter to jump out to a double digit lead at halftime and they just showed no mercy as they kept the pressure on till the final buzzer to make secure another blowout win.

The Hornets expect to be at full strength for this game with Coby White returning to the lineup, while the Celtics are still missing Jayson Tatum. These two teams have yet to collide this season but we should be in for a treat with both teams playing excellent basketball at the moment. It’s hard to split these two squads at the moment, but the Hornets are playing their second game of a back to back set, so I prefer a play on the reliable Celtics to get the statement win at home behind another big game from Pritchard.
