As a team, the Nets shot just 40 percent from the field and 14 of 38 from the 3-point line as they held the Knicks to just 14 points in the first quarter to take an early 13-point lead, but they allowed a 19-5 run and just couldn’t get over the line despite the Knicks missing a pair of crucial free throws with 4.9 seconds left on the clock.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in decent form lately as they’ve won four of their last seven games overall, but they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after getting trampled by the 76ers in a 139-118 loss on Thursday. Maxime Raynaud led the team with 30 points on 11 of 17 shooting, Daeqwon Plowden added 20 points while DeMar DeRozan chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Kings shot 48 percent from the field and 12 of 32 from the 3-point line, but they played almost no defense to start the game and were always fighting a losing battle after leaking 45 points in the first quarter. The Kings trailed by as many as 31 points in this one and the writing was on the wall before the fourth quarter began.

The Nets are still missing Michael Porter Jr, Egor Demin and Terance Mann with Noah Clowney listed as doubtful, while the Kings have ruled out Domantas Sabonis, Keegan Murray, Drew Eubanks and Devin Carter. These two squads have yet to clash this season but the Kings enter as the team in better shape despite their long list of injuries and I think they bounce back from their latest loss with a narrow win and cover against the depleted Nets here.
