The Brooklyn Nets pay a visit to the Philadelphia 76ers at the Xfinity Mobile Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Brooklyn Nets Betting Preview
The Brooklyn Nets have been in a major slump as they’ve lost 12 of their last 14 games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting routed by the Hawks in a 108-97 road defeat on Thursday. Josh Minott led the team with 24 points on six of nine shooting off the bench, Drake Powell added 11 points while Noah Clowney chipped in with 10 points, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Nets shot 47 percent from the field and 12 of 35 from the 3-point line as they did a decent job of clawing their way back from a slow start to take the lead in the fourth quarter, but the Hawks responded with a crucial 10-0 run to have the Nets trailing the rest of the way.
Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers have been in a rut as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall and they will be eager to bounce back here after getting trampled by the Pistons in a 131-109 road defeat on Thursday. MarJon Beauchamp led the team in scoring with 17 points on seven of 13 shooting, Jabari Walker added 16 points on six of six shooting while Cameron Payne chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the 76ers shot 47 percent from the field and just eight of 35 from the 3-point line as they struggled to create offense from the tipoff and fell behind right away after allowing 36 points in the first quarter. Things only got worse in the third quarter where the 76ers scored just 21 points to trail by as many as 35 points at one stage. VJ Edgecombe had a rough night as he shot just three of 14 from the field and zero of five from the 3-point line to finish with just 10 points and three turnovers.
Brooklyn v Philadelphia Free Prediction
The Nets have ruled out Egor Demin, Day’Ron Sharpe, Nic Claxton and Drake Powell with Michael Porter Jr listed as doubtful, while the 76ers have ruled out Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Kelly Oubre Jr with Andre Drummond and Adem Bona both questionable. These teams have already met three times this season with the 76ers leading the series by 2-1, but the last two meetings have been relatively close and we are dealing with plenty of injuries on both rosters for this meeting. I still think the 76ers are favorites at home, but I don’t think they should be favored by this many points given how shorthanded they are. I have the 76ers getting the win, but I think this will be a scrappy game that goes down to the wire.
