The Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves are set to face off in Game 2 of their Western Conference Semifinals series on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 8:30 PM ET at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
In Game 1, the Warriors overcame the loss of Stephen Curry, who exited in the second quarter with a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Curry is expected to miss at least the next three games. Despite his absence, the Warriors' defense held the Timberwolves to 39.5% shooting and forced 16 turnovers. Jimmy Butler contributed 20 points, while Buddy Hield added 24 points to lead the offense.

Julius Randle Over 19.5 Points
Randle is averaging 18.7 points per game, shooting 48.1% from the field, 36.7% from three-point range, and 82.9% from the free-throw line. These shooting percentages reflect his efficiency and ability to score from various areas on the court. Randle had a terrible game 1 and still was able to score 18 points. All it takes is an average game from him, and he should clear this line with ease. We saw Randle score 20+ points in 4 of the 5 games in the Lakers series. I expect him to bounce back in this one.
Buddy Hield Over 14.5 Points
Hield is averaging 11.1 points per game. Known for his sharpshooting, Hield shot 41.7% from the field and 37.0% from beyond the arc. His ability to space the floor and knock down perimeter shots made him a valuable asset in the Warriors’ offensive schemes. In the playoffs, Hield elevated his game, averaging 12.5 points. He had a standout moment in Game 7 against the Houston Rockets, where he scored 33 points and tied an NBA record by hitting nine three-pointers in a Game 7. Another key performance came on March 4th. He also played very well in game 1 of this series, scoring 24. With Curry now out for Golden State, expect Hield to continue to shine in this offense.
Anthony Edwards Over 7.5 Rebounds
Edwards is averaging 5.7 rebounds per game, comprising 0.8 offensive and 4.9 defensive rebounds per contest. In the postseason, Edwards elevated his rebounding performance, averaging 9.3 rebounds per game over six playoff appearances. His postseason high was 14 rebounds in game 1 of this series, underscoring his ability to contribute significantly in high-stakes games. Edwards didn’t have a great game 1 won when it came to a scoring perspective, but he cleaned up on the boards. I expect his success on the glass to continue in this one.
