Molly McCann and Hannah Goldy face off on Saturday on the main card of UFC Fight Night 208 in a women’s flyweight showdown at the O2 Arena in London, England.
Molly “Meatball” McCann comes into this fight with a 12-4 record overall and she has won two fights in a row. McCann’s last fight was against Luana Carolina and it was in the third round that she landed the big spinning black elbow and that led to the knockout. McCann is averaging 5.83 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 4.93 significant strikes per minute. She is averaging 1.79 takedowns every 15 minutes and she is successful on 36 percent of her takedown attempts. She also stops 34 percent of her opponent's takedown attempts. She is averaging 0.6 submission attempts every 15 minutes.
On the other side of this matchup is Hannah Goldy who sits with a 6-2 record but since coming into the UFC she has gone 2-2. Goldy’s last fight came against Emily Whitmire and late in the first round she locked in an armbar and finished the submission. She is averaging 6.05 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 4.85 significant strikes per minute. She is averaging 0.61 takedowns every 15 minutes and she is successful on 33 percent of his takedown attempts. She also stops 50 percent of her opponent's takedown attempts. Goldy is also averaging 0.3 submission attempts every 15 minutes.
Goldy is known for her striking, but she isn’t as good of a striker as McCann. McCann is a pressure fighter and she is going to put the pressure on Goldy in this game. I think Goldy is going to do enough to get the fight to the final bell, but this is going to be a fight that McCann dominates. Back McCann to win by decision. If you want to lay the big number with McCann straight up in a parlay, but I don't see a ton of value laying that number by itself.
