In my view, this matchup favors the Pittsburgh Pirates. Why? Pittsburgh starting pitcher Jared Jones has pitched exceptionally well recently, allowing no earned runs in three of his last four starts made this season. Conversely, Detroit hurler River Ryan is relatively untested having only started one contest in 2026. With that said, Pittsburgh is the side to be on in this contest. I am backing the Pittsburgh Pirates on the moneyline in this game.
