The Cleveland Guardians and the Chicago White Sox will meet on Monday night in the opening game of a three‑game American League Central series at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois.

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

The Cleveland Guardians enter Monday’s contest with a 41–37 overall record (1st in the American League Central) and a 22–20 mark on the road. The Cleveland offense has been inconsistent to this point in the season. Through 78 games played in 2026, Cleveland has compiled 310 runs scored (26th in MLB), 125 doubles, 74 home runs and a .228 batting average which ranks an abysmal 29th in Major League Baseball.

The Guardians arrive at tomorrow’s game in below average form. More specifically, Cleveland has lost four of the team’s last six games played this season, including a 9–3 loss to the Houston Astros two days ago.

Cleveland will turn to right hander Gavin Williams in this contest. In fifteen starts made this season, Williams has compiled a 9–4 win‑loss record (2nd in MLB), a 3.83 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP and a whopping 103 strikeouts which ranks sixth in Major League Baseball, while allowing 74 hits and 30 walks in 91.2 innings pitched. Gavin Williams has pitched well recently, allowing three or fewer earned runs in five of his last six starts made this season. Williams will look to build on his recent strong performances on the mound in tomorrow’s matchup with the Chicago White Sox.

Turning our attention to the Cleveland offense, the Guardians offense features shortstop Brayan Rocchio and veteran third baseman Jose Ramirez. Rocchio enters this contest with a .268 batting average, 5 home runs, 24 walks, 33 RBIs and a .737 OPS. Jose Ramirez has amassed 10 home runs, 18 doubles, 33 RBIs, 41 walks and a .757 OPS.

Chicago White Sox Betting Preview

The Chicago White Sox enter Monday night’s matchup with a 39–37 overall record (2nd in the American League Central) and a 24–12 mark at home. Chicago arrives at this contest in subpar form. The White Sox has lost five of the team’s last six games played this season, including a 10–5 loss to the New York Yankees last week.

Chicago will start left hander Anthony Kay in tomorrow’s game. In thirteen starts made this season, Kay has compiled a 6–2 record, a 4.61 ERA, a 1.44 WHIP and 55 strikeouts, while allowing 73 hits and 28 walks in 70.1 innings pitched.

Offensively, the Chicago White Sox lineup features second baseman Chase Meidroth who has amassed a .271 batting average, 6 home runs, 14 doubles, 27 walks, 25 RBIs, 2 stolen bases and a .724 OPS.

Why the Cleveland Guardians will win.

• Starting pitching advantage. In fifteen starts made this season, Gavin Williams has compiled a 9–4 win‑loss record (2nd in MLB), a 3.83 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP and 103 strikeouts which ranks sixth in Major League Baseball

• Offensive upside. Jose Ramirez and Brayan Rocchio continue to anchor the Cleveland Guardians lineup.

• Enhanced motivation. The Cleveland Guardians have lost four of the team’s last six games.

Why the Chicago White Sox will win.

• Home field advantage. The White Sox have played competitive baseball at Guaranteed Rate Field this season posting a 24-12 record.

• Quality starting pitching. Anthony Kay has compiled a 6–2 record, a 4.61 ERA, a 1.44 WHIP and 55 strikeouts in 70.1 innings pitched.

• Offensive production. Chase Meidroth leads the Chicago White Sox lineup.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Chicago White Sox Prediction

In my opinion, the matchup favors the Chicago White Sox. Why? Chicago starting pitcher Anthony Kay has pitched at a high level compiling a 6-2 win-loss record and a 1.44 WHIP. Conversely, Cleveland hurler Gavin Williams pitched poorly in his last outing allowing 7 earned runs in the Milwaukee Brewers 9-4 defeat of the Guardians last week. It should also be mentioned that the White Sox have amassed a robust 24-12 record at home. For the reasons just noted, I am backing the Chicago White Sox on the moneyline in this game.
