The Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres meet Sunday in MLB action at Busch Stadium. Here’s a Atlanta Braves vs San Diego Padres Prediction. This article will include a Atlanta Braves vs San Diego Padres Pick.
Atlanta Braves Betting Preview
The Atlanta Braves are 0-3 on the year and play the Dodgers, Marlins, and Phillies next. The Braves just can’t get out of their own way, as their run total has deceased through three games, and they were shutout on Saturday. This season couldn’t have started any worse for the Braves, and they get the Dodgers next. The Braves haven’t started a season 0-4 since 2021 when they won the World Series. Jurickson Profar leads the Atlanta Braves with 3 hits and 0 RBI, while Austin Riley and Marcell Ozuna have combined for 4 hits and 3 RBI.
AJ Smith-Shawver gets the ball for the Atlanta Braves, and he was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 4 strikeouts last season. This will be Smith-Shawver’s first career game against the San Diego Padres.
San Diego Padres Betting Preview
The San Diego Padres are 3-0 on the year and play the Guardians, Cubs, and Athletics next. The Padres are getting the job done in all areas of the game and have to be turning some heads at this point. Of course, it’s still early in the season, but the Padres are top-10 in batting average and ERA. It will be interesting to see if the Padres can keep this up and make a real run in the NL West. Fernando Tatis Jr. leads the San Diego Padres with 5 hits and 1 RBI, while Jake Cronenworth and Jackson Merrill have combined for 8 hits and 5 RBI.
Nick Pivetta gets the ball for the San Diego Padres, and he was 6-12 with a 4.14 ERA and 172 strikeouts last season. Pivetta is 8-5 with a 4.93 ERA and 87 strikeouts in his career against the Atlanta Braves.

- The Padres have covered the run line in four of their last five day games following a home win.

Atlanta Braves vs San Diego Padres Prediction
The Braves need to get their offense together before I can trust them in spots like this. I’d also need more plus money to seriously consider the Braves in their current form. I’ve been high on the Padres in the past and they’ve let me down with inconsistent play in big moments. Could this be different? Time will tell. What I do know is Nick Pivetta is one of the more underrated pitchers in baseball and has nasty strikeout stuff. He should be eager for a bounce-back season and want to prove himself to his new team. No better spot to keep a team undefeated on Sunday night national TV. I’ll roll with the Padres to remain undefeated in 2025.
