The Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers meet Saturday in MLB action at the Globe Life Field. Here’s a Boston Red Sox vs Texas Rangers Prediction. This article will include a Boston Red Sox vs Texas Rangers Pick.
Boston Red Sox Betting Preview
The Boston Red Sox play the Orioles, Cardinals, and Blue Jays next. The Red Sox are coming off a poor performance Friday where the offense scored one run and finished 3-11 with runners in scoring position. The Red Sox are batting .209 and have struck out 20 times through two games. It’s still early in the season, but you expect better from this Red Sox offense given the names in the lineup. Wilyer Abreu leads the Boston Red Sox with 5 hits and 5 RBI, while Jarren Duran and Kristian Campbell have combined for 6 hits.
Walker Buehler gets the ball for the Red Sox, and he was 1-6 with a 5.38 ERA and 64 strikeouts last season. Buehler is 1-1 with a 2.40 ERA and 11 strikeouts in his career against the Rangers.
Texas Rangers Betting Preview
The Texas Rangers will play the Reds, Rays, and Cubs next. The Rangers bounced back nicely on Friday with strong performances from their lineup and pitching staff. The Rangers pitching staff has shown up through two games, positing a 3.00 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 20 strikeouts. The Rangers have won 15 of their last 17 regular season games when allowing less than five runs. Josh Jung leads the Texas Rangers with 3 hits and 1 RBI, while Jonah Heim and Wyatt Langford have combined for 4 hits and 2 RBI.
Tyler Mahle gets the ball for the Rangers, and he was 0-1 with a 4.97 ERA and 10 strikeouts last season. This will be Mahle’s second career game against the Red Sox.
Boston Red Sox vs Texas Rangers Prediction
The Rangers have shown up on the mound through two games, but I don’t have a lot of confidence in Mahle given the small sample size going back to last season. Walker Buehler is coming off his worst season yet, but I believe a change of scenery could do wonders for him. Buehler should be eager to make a strong impression with his new team and he was a top-five finisher for the NL CY Young in 2022. Buehler was strong in spring training, allowing seven hits and two earned runs through 10 innings while striking out 11. This has a chance to be a strong bounce back season for Buehler. The Red Sox and the cheap price has to be one of the stronger MLB plays for Saturday.
