The Yankees faced off against the Kansas City Royals in their Division Series matchup, winning three games to one. New York lost Game 3 of the ALCS against the Cleveland Guardians but won four of the first five otherwise to move on. In Game 1 of the World Series on Friday, the Yankees fell in a crushing walk-off defeat 6-3 after entering the 10th inning with a one-run lead. Starter Gerrit Cole finished with 6.0 innings, one earned run, four hits, no walks, and four Ks.
In the Game 2 start for the Yankees, it’ll be Carlos Rodon. This year Rodon went 16-9 with a 3.96 ERA in 32 starts. Over five career postseason games (four starts) Rodon is 1-2 with a 5.82 ERA.
Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview
Over on the Dodgers’ side, they beat the Padres in a full five games in their Division Series matchup, then took out a plucky Mets team in six games to make the World Series. On Friday Los Angeles got the winning home run from Freddie Freeman, who had two of the team’s seven hits. Jack Flaherty lasted 5.1 innings in the start with two earned on five hits and a walk alongside six strikeouts.
It’ll be Yoshinobu Yamamoto in the starter slot for the Dodgers in Game 2. Yamamoto posted 18 starts for LA in the regular season (his first), going 7-2 with a 3.00 ERA. In three postseason starts Yamamoto is 1-0 with a 5.11 ERA.

New York Yankees vs Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
I’ll probably stick with the Dodgers. Yamamoto didn’t pitch too badly overall in his last appearance (though he didn’t make it through five innings), with 4.1 frames, two earned, four hits, a walk, and eight Ks in an eventual 1-2 LA win. As for Rodon, he notched similar numbers in his most recent outing: 4.2 innings, five hits, one walk, two earned, and six strikeouts in the decisive Game 5 win over Cleveland. This should be a pretty good starter matchup if both guys are on point.
On Friday Los Angeles couldn’t have made things any more dramatic with Freeman’s walk-off blast to finish the comeback victory. The Dodgers left a lot of runners on base and used five bullpen arms to get there, but the W is worth it. I like LA to keep it going behind Yamamoto on Saturday.
