Los Angeles Dodgers Recap
The Los Angeles Dodgers will be looking to start the series on the right foot after salvaging a 6-2 win in Sunday’s series finale against the Astros. Despite the win, the Dodgers still dropped the series and took a series loss for the first time since the all-star break after taking out the Giants and Red Sox in back-to-back series.

Shohei Ohtani has 128 hits including a team-high 32 home runs, 28 doubles and 76 RBIs with a .314 batting average while Mookie Betts has 86 hits with 16 doubles, 3 triples, 10 homers and 40 RBIs of his own, but continues to miss time because of an injury. - The Padres have failed to cover the run line in each of their last seven home games following a road loss.
- The favorites have covered the run line in four of the Padres' last five games.
San Diego Padres Recap
The San Diego Padres will try to keep their momentum going after a third straight series win to start the second half despite an 8-6 loss in Sunday’s series finale against the Orioles. The win added to the run of wins over the Guardians and Nationals in the second half.
Padres Trying To Close Distance On Dodgers
Jurickson Profar has 113 hits along with a .301 batting average and 17 doubles with 18 homers and 67 RBIs. Jake Cronenworth has 60 RBIs while Fernando Tatis Jr. has belted a team-high 14 home runs, 86 hits, 71 strikeouts and 8 stolen bases as well this season, but is out of the lineup because of injury. - The Dodgers have lost each of their last five games as favorites against the Padres following a win.
- The Dodgers have failed to cover the run line in each of their last six games against the Padres following a win.
- The Padres have covered the run line in seven of their last eight games.
Dodgers vs. Padres Prediction
I’m on the Padres here. I get why the Dodgers would be favored, but I’m not a huge Tyler Glasnow fan. Matt Waldron’s pitched better on the road, but he’s still a decent option and the Padres have been tearing the cover off of the baseball against righties in the second half so far. I think there’s a ton of value on San Diego here so give me the Padres.
