Last weekend the White Sox took on the Pittsburgh Pirates in their final series before the break. That one didn’t go well for Chicago, as they took a sweep with losses 4-1, 6-2 and 9-4. On Friday versus KC, the Sox took a blowout loss 7-1. Chris Flexen put up 4.2 innings in the start with seven earned on five walks and four hits.
In the starter role for Saturday’s game the Sox will roll out Jonathan Cannon. This year Cannon is 1-3 with a 4.41 ERA in the first 10 games (eight starts) of his career.

Chicago White Sox vs Kansas City Royals Prediction
I’ll lean toward the Royals. Singer needs a good start here, though. In his last outing versus Boston, Singer put up a loss with four earned in 2.2 innings. In his previous two starts however, Singer went 1-1 with just two earned in 12.0 innings. As for Cannon, he’s coming off four earned in 6.0 innings in a loss to Pittsburgh.
On Friday the Royals really only had the one big inning but it was more than enough to back up a great pitching performance. The bullpen was decent on 2.0 innings, one earned, three hits and no walks, and only two arms were used. KC will be ready on the mound if Singer can get it going Saturday.
